Prompted by a quote from Wynton Marsalis (“The thing about the blues is, it puts a groove on a bad situation.") the UMaine Faculty Jazz Ensemble premieres five new compositions that reflect on the recent past, and the struggles faced by people everywhere.

The members of the group have performed around the world, and have collaborated with numerous jazz greats over the years. Together they run the Jazz Studies program and direct the ensembles at UMaine.
